Money might not get you everything, but it can definitely bring you the owning power, even if it is memories. According to reports, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan went on to spend as much as Rs 88,000 for yesteryear legendry star Shammi Kapoor’s Jacket.

As a part of the current 12th Osian’s-Cinefan Film Festival in Delhi, an auction of Bollywood items was held on Tuesday. In what can be called as an exceptional Bollywood memorabilia, the auction had a jacket and a scarf that Shammi Kapoor sported in Junglee, a sweater that he wore in Andaz and his pictures.
Reports suggest Bollywood’s ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan bought the famous Junglee jacket and five other items for Rs 2.38 lakh.
Other Bollywood memorabilia, items like rights of Kishore Kumar's last recorded film song, hand-painted movie posters of Amitabh Bachchan and late Rajesh Khanna, 45 signed black & white photographic stills of Dev Anand, posters of Pather Panchali designed by Satyajit Ray, Farooque Sheikh’s turquoise silver ring that he adorned in Umrao Jaan, attires of Amjad Khan and Sanjeev Kumar from Shatranj Ke Khiladi and Lagaan cricket bat were among the highlights of the auction.
A paint brush autographed by MF Husain, in addition with some of his sketches for film Gaj Gamini, photographic stills from Aan, Mother India, Dil Diya Dard Liya, Leader, Humraaz, Zanjeer and Aan Milo Sajna and Balraj Sahani's photographs from Garam Hawa were also under the hammer during the auction.
The Osian’s-Cinefan Film Festival auction was an out-and-out success having made sales of Rs 69.55 lakh and with 86% items sold.
The price of memories:
- Kishore Kumar’s last recorded song (three days before his death in 1987) was bought by Gurgaon-based Kingdom of Dreams for Rs 15.6 lakh
- Dev Anand’s 45 signed black & white photographic stills was sold for Rs 4.2 lakh
- Balraj Sahani's photograph from Garam Hawa went for Rs 1 lakh
- Lagaan cricket bat was bought for Rs 1.56 lakh
